*Oct 2011: I am now revising the first draft of my patent [[Egan (2011) - The Economics of Patent Citations| Patent Measures working paper]]. Hopefully this will become an actual paper. I will be presenting it at the [http://conferences.thehillgroup.com/USPTO patent statistics /PatentStatistics2011/agenda.html USPTO Patent Statistics for decision makers conference Decision Makers Conference] on November the 17th(see me in the 16:00-17:00 slot on Day 2), and am due to file the final version of the paper and the presentation by '''November 1st'''.
==Timetable==
I am currently planning on graduating on May 12th 2012. The following timetable is based on that premise:
*Finish patent my [[Egan (2011) - The Economics of Patent Citations| Patent Measures]] paper by November 1st 2011 (present it at the USPTO on the 17th)*Get FE [[VC Partners]] paper main analysis done by December 2011*Put in 120hrs for the [[NBER patent data Patent Data]] project
*Run out of money in February 2011
*Write a third chapter by April 2012
*Lose April 2012 to bureaucracy
*File my dissertation by April 12th 2012([http://grad.berkeley.edu/policies/degree_filing_deadlines.shtml this is a soft deadline])
*Graduate on May 12th 2012
*Get a visa to stay in the US?
