Patent litigation is a viable and well known option for pursuing infringement claims. There are other avenues for challenging a patent's validity including Ex Parte Reexamination, Covered Business Method Reviews, and Patent Trial and Appeal Board Trials. The [[America Invents Act]] has recently established two new review proceedings, Inter Partes Reviews and Post Grant Reviews.
