Meghana is a 21 year old student at Rice University currently working as a Research Assistant for the James A. Baker III Institute for Public Policy's McNair Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation.

Biography

Meghana was born in Hyderabad, India and immigrated, with her family, to the United States when she was three years old. Since then, she has lived in six different states: Ohio, California, Pennsylvania, Maine, Virginia, and Texas. She currently considers the Virginia suburbs of Washington, D.C. her home, where she lives with her parents and one younger sister.

Education

In Virginia, Meghana attended the Loudoun County Academy of Science, a magnet STEM high school, where she gained a passion for mathematics. She now studies both economics and applied mathematics as a third-year undergraduate at Rice University. She has a particular interest in macroeconomics, and optimization.

Experience

In the past, Meghana has interned as a Business Analyst with Capital One, where she analyzed customer data in the subprime credit card space. She also had the opportunity to intern with Thomson Reuters, where she explored volatility in the foreign exchange markets. At Rice, Meghana spends her free time mentoring refugee youth, getting involved at her residential college, Lovett, and planning Rice's annual TEDx conference.
