Return to Small Business Development Ecosystem of Houston.

In 2014, The University of Houston partnered with the Houston Office of Business Opportunity to launch the first ever Build Up Houston program. Build Up Houston is a seven-month program designed to aid construction companies in working with the city of Houston. Small business owners, nonprofit organizations, and other national business experts developed this curriculum to help small businesses in construction develop the necessary skills for working with the government, and prime these businesses for continued growth and success.

Activities

The cost of participating in the program is $1500. This provides enrollees with a 7 month curriculum, comprised of 42 hours of class time held every other Tuesday, CEO mentoring group time, and other elements of program time. Part of the curriculum includes strategic planning, estimating and bidding, access to capital, and project management. For a full list of program details, please see Build Up Houston's class description page.
