=Patent Litigation=
I am currently considering building economic models of 'defensive patenting' and patent litigation. The [[Patent Litigation]] page provides links to some articles from the popular press that provide the stylized facts.

=Patent Trolls=

Likewise, I am currently considering writing a paper on "Patent Trolls". If the troll is the rightful owner of the bridge, why shouldn't he be entitled to charge a toll for a crossing? Does it matter if didn't build the bridge? And just because you managed to sneak across in the dead of night, does that mean he can't come after you for payment? Just how far can I push this metaphor?
