Much of his academic research is policy-relevant and in the fields of entrepreneurship and innovation. Dr. Egan is a serial entrepreneur who co-founded his first high-tech startup at the age of 19. He also worked as a venture capitalist in Vancouver, Canada. Throughout his career, Dr. Egan has been active as an economic advisor to local, state, and federal governments, as well as an economic consultant to firms ranging from pre-incorporation startups to Fortune 500 companies. He currently lives in Stowe, Vermont, with his wife, Lauren, and his two Border Collies, Noodles and Ralph.
